1. What This Policy Covers
This Therapist Aid Privacy Policy (the “Privacy Policy”) describes how Therapist Aid LLC (“Therapist Aid,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) processes and uses information that we collect about you through our website, located at https://www.therapistaid.com (collectively, the “Website”). If you are a patient who is accessing our Website under supervision of your mental health professional, please see the “Patient Information” section below.
2. Privacy Policy Changes
Therapist Aid may change this Privacy Policy from time to time. Therapist Aid encourages users to frequently check this page for any changes to this Privacy Policy. If we make changes, we will post the updated Privacy Policy on the Website, and, in some cases, we may provide additional notice (such as adding a statement to our homepage or, if you provided your email address, sending you a notification through email). Your further use of the Website after a change to our Privacy Policy will be subject to the updated Privacy Policy.
3. Information We Collect
We collect information in three ways: (a) we collect information you provide to us, (b) we collect information automatically through operating our Website, and (c) we collect information from others as described below.
- Account Information: You may provide certain information to us in order to set up your account. For example, we require individuals who sign up for a Therapist Aid account to provide a name and email address.
- Transaction and Billing Information: If you buy something from us–such as a subscription to a Therapist Aid plan–you may provide payment information, such as your credit card information and contact information.

This includes information you share when you access or interact with Therapist Aid pages or accounts on any third-party social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram, or contact us by email.
Please note, content you share on social media pages may include personal information. You are responsible for all actions resulting from any information you post on social media pages. Please remember that any information you post on social media pages may become publicly available, is not subject to this Privacy Policy, and Therapist Aid is not responsible for the results of such postings.
- Log Information: Like most online service providers, we collect information that web browsers, mobile devices, and servers typically make available, such as the browser type, IP address, unique device identifiers, language preference, referring site, the date and time of access, operating system, and mobile network information.
- Usage Information: We collect information about your usage of our Website. For example, we collect information about how many worksheets are downloaded, or which interactive therapy tools are most popular. We use this information to, for example, provide our Website to you, as well as get insights and analytics on how people use our Website, so we can make our Website better.
- Location Information: We may determine the approximate location of your device from your IP address. We collect and use this information to, for example, calculate how many people visit our Website from certain geographic regions.
- Information from Cookies & Other Technologies: A cookie is a string of information that a website stores on a user’s computer, and that the user’s browser provides to the website each time the user returns. Pixel tags (also called web beacons) are small blocks of script or code placed on websites and emails. Therapist Aid uses cookies and other technologies like pixel tags to help us identify and track users, usage, and access preferences for our Website, as well as track and understand email campaign effectiveness and to deliver targeted ads. Social media platforms or other third-party services: The Website and our communications may contain links to third-party websites, including social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, or Instagram (collectively, “Linked Sites”). We are not responsible for the privacy practices, policies, or content of any Linked Sites, even if you followed a link to them from the Website or our communications. This Privacy Policy does not apply to any Linked Sites, so we encourage you to read and understand the privacy policies of any Linked Sites that you visit.
We may obtain information about you from Linked Sites. For example, when you engage with Therapist Aid accounts through Linked Sites such as third-party social media sites, you may be allowing us to access certain information stored on those Linked Sites as described to you by those Linked Sites (e.g., your public profile, profile photo, friends list). We may receive certain information about you which is stored on Linked Sites if other users of those sites give us access to their profiles and you are one of their friends or connections, depending upon your settings on those Linked Sites. The information we have access to from Linked Sites varies and is controlled by your privacy settings on each Linked Site and by your consent.

5. How We Share Information
We do not sell our users’ personal information for monetary consideration.
We share information about you for the purposes described in the “How And Why We Use Information” section above, with appropriate safeguards on your privacy, including as follows:
- Affiliates, Employees, and Independent Contractors: We may disclose information about you to our affiliates, our employees, and individuals who are our independent contractors or representatives that need to know the information in order to help us provide our Website or to process the information for or on our behalf. We require our affiliates, employees, and authorized individuals to follow this Privacy Policy for personal information that we share with them.
- Third Party Vendors: We may share information about you with third party vendors that provide a variety of services for or on behalf of us. This group includes vendors that help us provide our Website to you (like payment providers that process your credit and debit card information, fraud prevention services that allow us to analyze fraudulent payment transactions, postal and email delivery services that help us stay in touch with you, and email support services that help us communicate with you), and those that assist us with our marketing efforts (e.g., by providing tools for identifying a specific marketing target group or improving our marketing campaigns). - Legal Requests: We may disclose information about you in response to a subpoena, court order, or other governmental request.

For example, if we have a good faith belief that there is an imminent danger of death or serious physical injury, we may disclose information related to the emergency without delay.
- Business Transfers: In connection with any merger, sale of company assets, or acquisition of all or a portion of our business by another company, or in the unlikely event that Therapist Aid goes out of business or enters bankruptcy, user information would likely be one of the assets that is transferred or acquired by a third party. If any of these events were to happen, this Privacy Policy would continue to apply to your information and the party receiving your information may continue to use your information, but only consistent with this Privacy Policy.
- With Your Consent: We may share and disclose information with your consent or at your direction. For example, we may share your information with third parties with which you authorize us to do so.
- Aggregated or De-Identified Information: We may share information that has been aggregated or reasonably de-identified, so that the information could not reasonably be used to identify you. For instance, we may publish aggregate statistics about the use of our Website. We will maintain the aggregated or de-identified information in an aggregated or de-identified form and will not re-identify such information.
- Published Support Requests: And if you send us a request (for example, via a support email or one of our feedback mechanisms), we reserve the right to publish that request in order to help us clarify or respond to your request or to help us support other users.

We keep information about you for as long as we reasonably need it for the purposes for which we collect and use it–which are described in the “How and Why We Use Information” section above–or while we are required to keep it by law or contracts.

You have several choices available when it comes to information about you:
- Limit the Information that You Provide: If you have an account with us, you can choose not to provide the optional account information. Please keep in mind that if you do not provide information like payment information, certain features of our Website–for example, paid subscriptions–may not be accessible.
- Opt-Out of Electronic Communications: You may opt out of receiving promotional messages from us by following the instructions in those messages. If you opt out of promotional messages, we may still send you other messages, like those about your account and legal notices.
- Set Your Browser to Reject Cookies: You can choose to set your browser to remove or reject browser cookies before using Therapist Aid, with the drawback that certain features of the Website may not function properly without the aid of cookies.
- Close Your Account: While we’d be sad to see you go, if you no longer want to use our Website, you can close your account (contact us for account closure; see How to Reach Us below). Please keep in mind that we may continue to retain your information after closing your account, as described in How Long We Keep Information above–for example, when that information is reasonably needed to comply with (or demonstrate our compliance with) legal obligations such as law enforcement requests, or reasonably needed for our legitimate business interests.
8. Information Security
We seek to keep your personal information secure by implementing reasonable technical, administrative, and physical safeguards designed to help us protect such information from unauthorized access, use, and disclosure. When we collect or transmit sensitive information such as a credit card number, we endeavor to use industry standard security measures to protect that information. We also ask our third-party vendors to use reasonable security measures to protect your information from unauthorized access, use and disclosure. However, please be aware that no method of electronically transmitting or storing information is ever completely secure. You are responsible for keeping your account credentials like your username and password safe and confidential.

10. Other Things You Should Know
(a) Ads and Analytics Services Provided by Others
Ads appearing on our Website may be delivered by advertising networks. These ad networks and analytics providers may set tracking technologies (like cookies) to collect information about your use of our Website and across other websites and online services. These technologies allow these third parties to recognize your device to compile information about you or others who use your device. This information allows us and other companies to, among other things, analyze and track usage, determine the popularity of certain content, and deliver advertisements that may be more targeted to your interests.
(b) Do Not Track
Some web browsers may have a “Do Not Track” setting that transmits a “Do Not Track” header to the websites you visit with information indicating that you do not want your activity to be tracked. We do not currently take actions to respond to Do Not Track signals because a uniform technological standard has not yet been developed.
(c) Shine the Light
For the purpose of California’s “Shine the Light” law as codified in California Civil Code Section 1798.83-84, as of the effective date of this Privacy Policy, we do not share California residents’ personal information with third parties for such third parties’ own direct marketing purposes.
11. Patient Information
If you are accessing the interactive tools on our Website as a patient under the supervision of your mental health professional, we may collect (a) information about your mental health conditions, diseases, diagnosis, or treatments (such as your access to or use of specific interactive tools) from your mental health professional for the purpose of granting you access to our tools and (b) other internet or electronic network activity information in connection with your use of our interactive tools from your device (collectively, “Patient Information”). We use Patient Information strictly for the purpose of providing our interactive tools, such as maintaining their functionalities, performing network communications to connect you to our interactive tools, and ensuring our compliance with legal or regulatory requirements. We do not monetize Patient Information or use Patient Information for marketing or advertising purposes.
